Nowadays, we face the necessity to apply to a notary, for example, to draw up a power of attorney, notarial statement, agreement, etc. However, if you do not speak Ukrainian or, at least, Russian, then you will need interpreting services, as not all notaries can speak the client’s language. Every client coming to a notary’s office for assistance wants interpretation to be done by a certified professional.

INTERPRETATION AT A NOTARY OFFICE MAY BE REQUIRED IN CASE OF:
  • Execution of a notarial document (power of attorney, statement, etc.) by a foreigner, not fluent in either Ukrainian or Russian;
  • Signing of an agreement to be drawn up in two languages and notarized;
  • Concluding an agreement between legal entities
  • In other cases

When concluding any legal documents with citizens speaking different languages, a certified translator must be present. Even if a notary knows the basic phrases in a foreign language, he/she will not be able to correctly and fully convey the necessary information to the client. Therefore, only a qualified translator must perform consecutive interpretation of the document being prepared for the client. The text of the document itself will be drawn up in Ukrainian, and our translator will provide him with a complete and accurate translation into English, and put his signature on the notarial document. Such a service should be negotiated in advance, subject to a 50% prepayment. The cost of interpretation depends on the number of documents to be translated.
